What is CLIL or EAA?

CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), in German EAA (Englisch als Arbeitssprache) was first applied in Finland by the Australian David Marsh in the 90s. This way of teaching trains pupils to use their first foreign language as a working tool in communication on a special subject area.

Description of project:

In the present project, the pupils worked on various sections covering the topic area “Making Effective Presentations” in two subjects, English and Communcation and Presentation. In the course of about three weeks English was used in discussions, exercises and workshop units to improve the pupils´ skills of giving talks. Of course various media, such as film, the flipchart, the pin- and white board or power point were applied.

As a final product and documentation a CD was compiled on all the subject areas so that it can be used by other pupils lateron.
